hey everyone.
i started installing slackware late last night, but got a bunch of
fatal error messages.
they said the following:
installpkg error #2
There was a fatal error attempting to install
/var/log/mount/slackware/a/aaa_base-11.0.0-noarch-2.tgz. The
package may be corrupt, the installation media may be bad, or
something else has caused the package to be unable to read
without error. You may hit enter to continue if you wish, but if
this is an important required package then your installation may not
work as-is.
i got the same error with the following files before i gave up:
aaa_elflibs-11.0.0-i486-9.tgz
acl-2.2.39_1-i486-1.tgz
acpd-1.0.4-i486-2.tgz
attr-2.4.32_1-i486-1.tgz
but i read a couple of forum entries and linked to linux.org about
tarballs and it sounds like i might be able to go on faith and see if
the installation works by the end. it's just that last night when i
tried, there were a lot of files named this way. the little list here
is just what i discovered when i tried again this morning.
help me?
i hope this is what the listserv is for. i appreciate your help.
tim
