[Discuss] installpkg error #2

thanks for the tips, peter. it's been a while since anyone reminded me
about burning at higher speeds. i'll just have to be patient. the live
slax i used was a 200 megger but it didn't have what i'm looking for
at all. however, i can probably just install tex after, since, unlike
dsl, it seems open to normal alterations.

slackware does seem to be exactly what i'm looking for, although i am
still curious about debian. i doubt installing complete distributions
of both of these is practical on a 20GB hard drive.

thanks again to everyone.

oh, and i suppose the integrity checks are more involved than nero's
data verification, eh? i'll find something to use to really check.

thanks two millions ;-)
