[Discuss] installpkg error #2

alright. well, i'm fiddling with mandriva 2007, waiting for everything
to be installed, including all the guis.

actually, i should be burning disc one of slackware.

i just didn't want to be too ambitious about the oses. i'm most
concerned with speed. i have little interest in openoffice, right now.
i'm more interested in tex. when i get a new computer, i'll install
everything and run it whatever way i choose. but i think i'll try that
wm or some of the others to see which is fastest.

cheers,

tim

It wasn't that long ago (it seems) when I used on average 2GB per install. at home I had Winnt4, Win95 and Slackware7 on a 6 GB drive. with 20 GB you should have no problem installing 2 OSs. And if you do it right you should be able to use the same /home partition between the 2 of them, you could also use the same /swap partition.

Someone else recommended a different lightweight window manager that I've never heard of - he probably knows more than me as for the last 5 years at least I have just used Gnome (with whatever window manager my distro uses with it - used to be sawfish with slack, I don't even know what I use now on gentoo) and I don know what else is out there.
