I'm glad to see that there actually is a LUG active in Nanaimo. I had tried 
some of the previous address for one I saw on the net, and never got a reply, 
so assumed you were defunct.

I've been interested in computers since my first one with the optional 4K 
memory - an IMSAI 8080 with dual 8 inch drives. I've been through CP/M, a 
variety of flavours of DOS, from 2.1 to 6.0, Winblows from 3.1 to XP and OS/2 
and it's successor Ecomstation.

Currently I have four computers running SuSE 10.1 , including my work machine, 
and one more running some proprietary stuff under XP. I've been able to move 
most, but not all my computing from Windows to Linux simply because some 
specialized software doesn't exist in Linux. 

I'm particularly interested in doing stuff for a website with NVU and in 
working with GIMP.

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you in the future.
